Terms of Service

Last updated April 18, 2026 ยท Effective on first use of the service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and The Tea Report ("we," "us," or "the service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or running a report, you confirm that you've read these Terms, that you're at least 18 years old, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know in-app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the change.

2. What the service is โ€” and isn't

The Tea Report is for personal, informational use only. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and reports may not be used to make decisions about employment, housing, tenancy, credit, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.

The service helps you compile publicly and commercially available information about an adult you're considering dating, drawn from third-party data providers. Reports are a snapshot at the moment of generation and may contain errors, omissions, or out-of-date information. You should always verify anything important independently before acting on it.

3. Your account

To use the service you'll create an account using a valid email address. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized use.

Accounts are personal. You may not share your login, transfer your subscription, or use the service on behalf of an organization.

4. Subscription, billing, and cancellation

The service is offered on a recurring monthly subscription at the price listed on the marketing site (currently $10 per month, billed in advance). A subscription includes up to four full reports per billing cycle. Unused reports do not roll over.

You may cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you'll keep access through the end of the current cycle, and previously generated reports remain viewable. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.

If a report fails to generate after a credit has been consumed, we'll automatically return the credit to your balance. If a charge is made in error, contact us within 30 days and we'll work with you to make it right.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any FCRA-covered purpose, including employment, tenant screening, credit, or insurance decisions.
  • Run a report on a minor (anyone under 18). Searches involving minors are blocked at intake; attempts to circumvent that block are a violation of these Terms.
  • Use the service to stalk, harass, threaten, surveil, dox, or intimidate any person, or to share a report publicly or with anyone other than yourself.
  • Republish, resell, scrape, or redistribute report content; build a derivative database; or feed report content into a third-party model or product.
  • Probe, attack, or interfere with the service, including by attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits, or quotas.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice depending on severity, and we may report serious abuse to law enforcement.

6. Third-party data and accuracy

Reports compile information drawn from public records, identity verification databases, and U.S. government registries (including state and federal sex-offender registries), supplied by third-party data providers. We don't generate this data ourselves and we can't guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Each section of a report is labeled with the category of source and a verified-on date so you can judge for yourself.

If you believe a report contains inaccurate information, please contact us so we can investigate. In some cases the right next step will be a request to the underlying data provider.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific result will be obtained from its use.

Nothing in the service constitutes legal, medical, financial, investigative, or safety advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on a report.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither The Tea Report nor its officers, employees, or providers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Tea Report and its providers from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of a report, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the account page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if your account becomes inactive for an extended period, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination โ€” including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification โ€” will survive.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
